After a recent, well received, six week course for the Devonport City Council’s ‘Healthy Living’ campaign – and by request – the ‘Torakan Dojo’, Devonport, is proud to announce that it will now conduct an ongoing ‘Mobility, Balance, Co-ordination & Self-Defence Awareness Class’ for Seniors.

Mature adults who, for any number of reasons are not interested in becoming involved in a vigorous sporting activity ‘per se’, might find that a mild physical environment, designed for mobility rather than strenuous exercise, as well as a sensible, common sense self-defence awareness program, would see this class as a perfect fit.

This program is designed for the older adult. ‘Senior Citizens’ are typically defined in Australia as people who are aged 60 year of age or older, however this course is not exclusively for this age group; anyone wishing to acquire some practical and simple ways of attaining a good solid set of self-defense skills would also find this course empowering.

The first session of the ‘Torakan Mobility, Balance, Co-ordination & Self-Defence Awareness Class’, for Seniors, begins on Wednesday the 11th of November, 12 noon until 1pm.

Your instructor, Thomas McKinnon, is the Chief Instructor of the Torakan Karate-Do School, but this is not a Karate class.  Thomas is a master in several martial arts, but this is not a martial arts course.  At 76 years of age, Thomas is probably what you would call a senior, but there is no requirement for you to be any particular age.

This class just might save your life, in more ways than one.

Book now to avoid disappointment:
